About Ankita Lokhande
Ankita Lokhande is an Indian actress who began her career in television together with her breakthrough character in Balaji Telefilms’ popular daily show Pavitra Rishta on Zee TV and won various awards for an equivalent. She was one of the very best paid actresses of the television industry until she retired from there in 2018, after her decision to plunge into the movie industry.
In 2019, Lokhande debuted her film career as brave warrior Jhalkaribai within the historical periodic movie Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. She then appeared in Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment’s 2020 moderately successful action thriller Baaghi 3.
Family background
Lokhande was born on 19 December 1984 in Indore to Shashikant (a banker) and Vandana Pandis (a teacher) and has two younger siblings namely Sooraj and Jyoti. After graduating as a state-level badminton player in her college, she moved to Mumbai in 2005 to pursue her passion for acting.
Personal life
Lokhande co-starred with Sushant Singh Rajput in Pavitra Rishta where they began dating one another in 2010. However, they broke up and parted ways in 2016.
In 2019, she announced her relationship together with her boyfriend Vicky Jain, a businessman. They got working on 11 June 2020.
Lokhande initially started her television career in 2004 as a participant in talent-hunt reality show Idea Zee Cinestars. In 2009, she started working for Ekta Kapoor’s romantic-drama series Pavitra Rishta. She played the twin roles of Archana and Ankita within the show until its conclusion in 2014. thanks to the immense popularity of the show, Lokhande became a household name.
In 2011, she participated in dance based reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 4. within the same year, she also participated in another reality show Comedy Circus along side Kapil Sharma.
In 2013, Ankita was a neighborhood of mini-series Ek Thhi Naayka, created by Ekta Kapoor for the promotion of her film Ek Thi Daayan during which she played the role of Pragya.
In 2016, it had been rumored that she is going to be a neighborhood of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s historical movie Padmaavat. However, she opted out of the project as she believed that she wasn’t ready for a movie debut. In 2017, there have been reports that Lokhande has been signed for director Girish Malik’s upcoming film Torbaaz opposite Sanjay Dutt. Later Malik denied this news and said that aside from Sanjay Dutt, nobody else has been signed or may be approached.
After a hiatus of 4 years, she made her film debut in epic movie Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, during which she portrayed Warrior Jhalkaribai.
She bagged a supporting role in Sajid Nadiadwala’s film Baaghi 3, during which she played Shraddha Kapoor’s elder sister. The action packed spiritual sequel was released within the first week of March 2020.
In November 2019, Lokhande was offered to play the role of female lead in Rumi Jaffrey’s Chehre after the first female lead Kriti Kharbanda opted out of the film.
