Dibrugarh University Assistant Professor was arrested in this morning June 4th 2020 for illegal video upload in the internet.
An assistant professor at Dibrugarh University in Assam was arrested by the police after an obscene video of him along with a woman had gone viral on social media. An Assistant Professor of Dibrugarh University was apprehended by police for allegedly uploading an obscene video of himself on a website. Dhrubajyoti Choudhury is an Assistant professor for that university.
District Superintendent of Police, Dibrugarh, Shreejit T told PTI that the Assistant Professor of Mathematics has been arrested on the basis of an FIR lodged by the university registrar. It has been alleged in the FIR that the assistant professor had uploaded the video on a porn website.
“A person who looks like an assistant professor in a viral video on the internet is seen in an objectionable position with a woman. We raided her house on Thursday evening and seized her laptop,” he said.
The SP said, “In interrogation, the assistant professor confessed to his crime. He made that video three years ago in a hotel in Guwahati with the woman.” He said that the camera used in the recording has also been seized.
Accused claimed that the woman in the video was not a student of the university, the officer said, adding, “This was cross-checked with professors and other authorities of the institute.”
The assistant professor has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the IT Act, he said, adding the accused will be produced in a court. criticized the incident and urged police to take strict action as per law.
